John is one of Ireland’s leading career coaches and specializes in working with professionals being made redundant from corporate Ireland. www.harmonics.ie

John set up Harmonics in 2006, but comes with 10 years experience as a career coach. Harmonics help individuals within organizations and private individuals to grow and develop their careers. The business now has 7 full time people and 14 associate career coaches nationwide. John has facilitated hundreds of career workshops and coached over 300 people on one to one programmes through career change in the last 10 years when they were faced with redundancy or unemployment. His work has consistently shown him that each individual has the ability and talent to transition their careers but few have the belief. John’s view is that for Ireland to recover we all have to develop a ‘self employed mindset’. We have to become Leaders of our own career direction whatever the circumstances and build new futures even if we see little hope on the horizon.

John’s company Harmonics work with corporate clients such as O2, Diageo, Musgrave, Superquinn, Jacob Fruitfield, Danone, Tyco ,Mercer and Carphone Warehouse when they make people redundant. John’s has written “Managing Your own Career” and “Self Marketing for Success” which are used by participants on Harmonics ‘Career Transition Programmes’. John is a passionate public speaker and his work on career change is regularly featured in the media and he has contributed to The Tubridy Show, The Pat Kenny Show, Matt Coopers Show “The Last Word” and Gareth O Callaghan on 4 FM. He recently featured on The Afternoon Show’s Career Clinic series over a series of weeks. John has just finished filming an observational documentary series where he career coaches 6 unemployed people over a six month period. The programme “Rising after Redundancy” will air in early May 2010 and will be shown on RTE One as a 6 week series. John feels this programme will show the viewing Irish public, there is hope but that career change is not an instant quick fix and needs huge determination. John has recently been commissioned to write his first book on career change which will be published in October 2010.
